Problem

Suggestion

The announcement
message s not clear.

When recordng the announcement, make sure you speak n a normal tone of voce about nne

nches from the telephone base.
Make sure there is no background noise (television, music, traffic, etc.) when recording.

The answerng system
does not record
messages.

Make sure the answerng system s on.
Make sure the memory of the answerng system s not full.


The messages on the
answerng system are
ncomplete.

If a caller leaves a very long message, part of t may be lost when the system dsconnects the

call after four mnutes.
If the caller pauses for more than five consecutive seconds, the system stops recording and

dsconnects the call.
If the memory on the system becomes full durng a message, the system stops recordng and

dsconnects the call.
If the caller’s voce s very soft, the system may stop recordng and dsconnect the call.

The answerng system
does not respond to
remote commands.

Make sure your remote access code s correct (page 42).
Make sure you are callng from a touch-tone telephone. When dalng a number, there should

be tones. If there are clcks, then t s not a touch-tone telephone and cannot actvate the

answerng system.
The answerng system may not detect the remote access code when the announcement s

playng. Wat untl the announcement s over before enterng the code.
There may be interference on the telephone line you are using. Press the keypad keys firmly

when dalng.
