Faulty in the ECC system
If a fault is detected in the Electronic Climate Control system, the A/C OFF lights will flash, for
approximately 20 seconds.
If this flashing recurs the next time the system is switched on, the climate control unit should be checked
by an authorized Volvo retailer.

pg. 37 Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (Electronic Climate Control)

Automatic setting

Set the blower control and air distribution selector knobs to "AUT" and set the desired temperature dial.
The blower will automatically select the best speed to maintain cabin temperature.

Optimum defrosting

Set the air distribution selector to

and move the blower control to the position AUT (as far to the left

as possible). The A/C system will be on at this time even if the A/C OFF button is depressed, and the
blower will run at its maximum speed. When the windows have cleared, move the function selector
knob to the "AUT" position.

Additional information

When the air conditioning system is used, it will function best if it is left on continuously, and not

switched off intermittently.

Always keep the air inlet grille at the base of the windshield free of snow.

Water under the vehicle in hot weather can be the result of condensation from the air conditioning

system and is normal.

The air conditioning system functions only at temperatures just above 39° F (4° C).
