If it is ever necessary to reset the ribbon parameters to the factory default
values, follow this procedure:

1. Turn off the printer.

2. Open the printhead and remove the ribbon.

3. Turn on the printer while pressing and holding the FEED, CANCEL,

and MODE buttons.

4. After the PRINTHEAD LED flashes, reload the ribbon.

5. Close the printhead.

NOTE: A label automatically prints, showing the ribbon sensor
profile.

6. To save, press the MODE button four times.

A Power-On Self Test (POST) is performed automatically each time the
printer is turned on. This test checks for proper initialization of various
electronic circuits and establishes starting parameters as those stored in the
printer’s memory. During this test sequence, the front panel lights turn on
and off to ensure proper operation.

At the end of this self test, only the POWER LED remains lit. If other
LEDs are also lit, refer to “Troubleshooting Tables” beginning on page 45.
