The batteries are not inserted into the remote control at the time of purchase, so you need
to insert them before the remote control can be used.
Inserting the Batteries

Remove the battery compartment cover.
Insert the batteries.
Make sure the polarities of the batteries are
correct.
Replace the battery compartment cover.
After inserting the tab of the battery cover,
push the cover down until it clicks into place.

While pressing the cover here, lift the cover up.
