ADVANCED OPERATIONS

Virtual CINEMA DSP allows you to enjoy the CINEMA
DSP programs without surround speakers. It creates
virtual speakers to reproduce the natural sound field.
If you do not connect surround speakers, Virtual CINEMA
DSP activates automatically whenever you select a
CINEMA DSP sound field program.

Virtual CINEMA DSP will not activate, even when Surround L/R
is set to “None” (see page 41), in the following cases:

– When the 6ch Stereo, DOLBY DIGITAL, Pro Logic, Pro

Logic II, or DTS program is selected.

– When the sound effect is turned off.
– When a digital signal with a sampling frequency greater than

48 kHz is input to this unit.

– When using the test tone; or effect.
– When headphones are connected.

This unit comes with a variety of input jacks. Do the
following to select the type of input signals you want to
use.
Use this feature to designate the input mode for sources
connected to the DIGITAL INPUT jacks when you turn on
this unit (see page 44 for details about the input mode).
