Preparation of a cappuccino

If the special cappuccino accessory is not in
place, then fit it

(figure 10)

.

1. Pour between 120 and 180 ml of fresh, cold

milk into a small recipient. Do not use a
recipient that has been washed in hot water,
if it is still hot. The recipient must be able to
fit under the special cappuccino accessory.

We recommend using semi-skimmed milk or
UHT milk for a thick, consistent froth.
2. Follow the instructions in steps 1 to 9 of the

"Preparation of an espresso" section.

3. As soon as the coffee starts to run through

the filter holder, start frothing the milk.
Immerse half of the steam nozzle into the
milk recipient.

4. a) Turn the function selector to the position

(steam) to let the steam flow

(figure 11)

.

b) Tilt the recipient slightly so that you can

see the position of the nozzle while the
milk froths

(figure 12)

. Ensure that there

is a space between the end of the nozzle
and the bottom of the recipient to let the
steam out.
In a matter of seconds, the milk starts to
froth. While the froth starts rising, lower
the recipient slowly so that the end of the
nozzle is held just above the surface of the
froth.

Tip: do not boil the milk (if large bubbles form
at the surface of the milk, then the milk is
boiling).

c) Once the froth is ready to serve, hold the

end of the nozzle in the frothy milk to
avoid splashing and turn the function
selector to the position (coffee) to make
your espresso.

d) For thicker froth, leave the milk to stand

for one minute.

NOTE:
Steam nozzle blocked:
Milk residues accumulate in the end of the
steam nozzle.
To avoid the nozzle becoming obstructed,
remove the plastic base of the special
cappuccino accessory

(figure 13)

when the

appliance has cooled down in order to make it
easier to clean.
Follow the instructions for cleaning the steam
nozzle described in the section "Cleaning the
steam nozzle".

Don’t forget to refit the end of the nozzle and to
screw it tightly in place

(figure 10)

.

Heating liquids

The steam is used to froth the milk but can also
be used to heat liquids (tea or hot drinks).
1. Check that your appliance is unplugged and

that it is not pressurised.

2. Measure out a small quantity of water and

pour it into the boiler ( level (steam)).

For information: 50 ml of water to heat 100 ml
of water.
Important: for best results, avoid adding more
than 100 ml of water to the boiler.
3. Screw on the cap tightly

(figure 4)

.

4. Switch on the appliance.
5. Place the steam nozzle into the liquid to be

heated

6. Place the selector in the position (steam).
7. The indicator lights up

(figure 9)

.

8. The steam starts to flow after 1 to 3 minutes

of pre-heating.

Caution: Do not leave the appliance
unattended at this point.
9. When the liquid is hot, return the selector to

the "0" position (Off).

10. Move the selector to the position (steam)

to evacuate the steam, before opening the
cap, ensuring that you place a recipient
underneath the steam nozzle.

Be careful not to burn yourself.
Important:

Clean

the

steam

nozzle

immediately after this operation with a damp
sponge.
