Front I/O ports cover. Pull this cover up to open the front panel.

Optical disk drive.

Optical disk drive LED.

Optical disk drive emergency eject hole. If the optical disk drive tray fails to eject,
insert a pointed object such as a ballpen to ejext the tray.

Optical disk drive eject button. Press this button to eject the optical disk drive tray.
6.
Microphone port (pink). This port connects to a microphone.
7.
Headphone port (lime). This port connects to a headphone or speaker.
8.
USB 2.0 ports. These Universal Serial Bus 2.0 (USB 2.0) ports connect to USB 2.0
devices such as a mouse, printer, scanner, camera, PDA, and others.
9.
Power sensor. Lightly touch this sensor to turn on your computer.
10. Fingerprint scanner. This scans and authenticates a fingerprint, which secures your
computer from unauthorized access.
Before using the fingerprint scanner, ensure that you have set up your user account and
registered your fingerprint.
11. IEEE 1394a port. This port connects to an IEEE 1394 device such as a digital
camcorder.
12. Secure Digital™ / MultiMediaCard/Memory Stick card slot. Insert a Secure Digital™
card, MultiMediaCard, or a Memory Stick card into this slot.
13. Smart card slot. Insert a Smart card into this slot.
14. CompactFlash
®
/ Microdrive™ card slot. Insert a CompactFlash
®
/ Microdrive™ card
into this slot.
