Never feed more than one disk or cas-
sette to the machine at once!
If more than one disk or cassette is in-
advertently fed to the machine, refer to
”MATERIAL JAM IN MACHINE” under
”MALFUNCTION”.

EMPTYING THE RECEPTACLES (Fig. 3):
The shredded material is being catched

separatly

in the two receptacles standing side by side. If one
of the two receptacles is full, the machine switches
off automatically. The pilot lamp (4) (fig. 1) lights
up. Empty the receptacle as follows:
- Open the door and pull out the receptacle (s)

a little. Take off the full plastic bag and dispose
of the contents.

- Insert the empty bag, move the receptacle (s)

back and close the door.

Note: The machine only runs with closed door!

SCOPE OF APPLICATION:
The

intimus MutliMedia data shredder can be

used to shred all types of data media including
CDs, DVDs, 100 and 250 MB ZIP disks, 4 mm
DAT cassettes and 3_” floppy disks.

The machine may only be used to shred
CDs, DVDs, ZIP disks, 4 mm DAT cas-
settes and 3_” floppy disks!

Shredding any other kind of data medium

could damage the machine (e.g. destroy

the cutting mechanism).

INSTALLATION:
- Unpack and set machine upright.
- Put a plastic bag in each receptacle.
- Plug in the machine (for instructions for the

necessary precautions see „TECHNICAL
DATA“.

The air vents in the housing are ne-
cessary for cooling and may not be
covered or closed!
The mains connection at the machine
must be freely accessible!
Only operate the machine in enclosed
rooms at temperatures between 10°C
and 25°C!

CONTROLS:
1 = Pushbutton switch „forward“ (fig. 1)
Depress this switch to start the machine or

to stop the machine.

2 = Pushbutton switch „reverse“ (fig. 1)
Pressing this button activates the cutting

mechanism into reverse.

3 = Pilot lamp „forward operation“ (fig. 1)
Lights when the pushbutton switch (1) is

operated. The cutting system runs forward.

4 = Pilot lamp
„door open“ / „receptacle full“ (fig. 1)
Lights up when

a) the door is not closed. The machine then

switches off automatically and it cannot be
started as long as the door is open.

b) one of the receptacles is full and needs to

be emptied. At the same time the machine
switches off automatically.

5 = Pilot lamp “material jam“ (fig. 1)
lights if too much material is fed into the cutting

mechanism. The cutting mechanism halts,
then runs one step in reverse and stops. The
motor switches off.

FEEDING DATA MEDIA TO THE SHREDDER:

The machine is not suitable for shred-
ding paper or cardboard (formation of
clumps).

The procedure is as follows:
- Turn machine on with pushbutton switch (1)

(fig. 1). The cutting system runs forward. Pilot
lamp lights up (3) (fig. 1).

- Feed the respective data media individually as

indicated below through the corresponding inlet
slot to the cutting system:

Left slot

– 3_” floppy disks / ZIP disks

Middle slot – 4 mm DAT cassettes
Right slot – CDs and DVDs
- After shredding turn machine off with pushbutton

switch (1) (fig. 1).

<< The machine may not be operated by more

than one person at any given time!

The machine was designed for safe operation
by “one person only”.

<< During the shredding process no other

work may be performed on the machine
(for example cleaning, etc.)!

<< The machine is not a toy, and is not suitable

for use by children!

The overall technical safety concept of this ma-
chine (dimensions, feed openings, emergency
shutdown devices etc.) does not provide for
any guarantee regarding hazard-free operation
by children.

<< Danger of injury! Keep all

loose articles of clothing, ties,
jewelery, long hair or other loose
objects away from opening!

<< Danger of injury! Never insert fingers into

opening!

<< In case of danger switch the machine off

with the mains switch, or with the emer-
gency switch, or unplug the machine!

<< Always unplug the machine from the

mains power supply before opening the
machine!

Repairs may only be performed by trained
personnel!
