Warm Up the

System

Warming up the system is essential to ensure successful data
acquisition.

Warm up the system to prepare the optics prior to sample acquisition.
The system automatically begins warming up upon powering on.
Warmup takes approximately thirty minutes (shown in seconds in the
status bar). Wait until the warmup completes before processing
samples.

After four hours of inactivity (e.g., you have not analyzed samples),
the status bar appears red and indicates that the lasers are off. You
need to warm up the system again by manually initiating warmup
procedures.

‹

To warm up the system:

1. Click Warmup. A confirmation dialog box appears to verify that

you want to warm up the system.

2. Click OK to continue. The Device Activity section in the status

bar indicates that the lasers are warming. Upon completion, the
Laser Status area in the status bar becomes green and says,
“Warmed Up.”

Soak

daily, at the end of the day for shutdown

to prevent salt crystals from forming in the
probe due to exposure to air. Soaking the
probe replaces sheath fluid in the probe
with water. The system uses at least 250
µL of distilled water.
