OPERATION

1. Turn off the engine before performing any leak detection inspections.
2. Add fluorescent dye to the system. For best results, use OEM-approved Tracerline

Fluoro-Lite® and Dye-Lite® dyes. See the dye instructions for full information.

3. Run the engine and/or system for 5 to 10 minutes to circulate the dye. Turn off the

engine.

4. Connect the plug to a power source that complies with the electrical requirements

specified on the lamp’s label.

5. Push the switch on the ballast. The lamp will achieve maximum output within

seconds.

6. While wearing the TP-9940 glasses, scan the system with the lamp. The leaks will show

best under low light conditions.

7. When the lamp is used intermittently at frequent intervals, leave the lamp burning

continuously rather than turning it on and off repeatedly. This extends bulb life. If the
lamp is turned off, it can be restarted immediately.

8. After the leaks are repaired, clean off the dye residue with GLO-AWAY™ dye

cleaner and reinspect with the lamp.

FOR AC OPERATION

1. Align the top notch of the 6-pin plug on the AC cord to the notch in the ballast

outlet; turn the locking ring to the right over the plug to secure.

2. Connect the ballast plug to a power source that complies with the electrical

requirements specified on the lamp’s label.

3. Push the rocker switch on the ballast.
