FOR DC OPERATION
1. Connect the 12-volt plug to the Tracerline® TP-1509 12-volt battery pack or to a suitable DC
supply. The TP-1509 must be fully charged before using! Refer to the TP-1509 operating
instructions for full information.
2. Insert the plug into receptacle on the battery pack.
3. Align the top notch of the 6-pin plug on the DC cord to the notch in the ballast outlet; turn the
locking ring to the right over the plug to secure.
4. Press ON the RED inverter/rocker switch.
5. Press ON the BLACK ballast rocker switch.
NOTE: The TP-1509 battery pack includes a 12-volt battery, 120-volt charger and nylon carrying
case. (The TP-1509/F has a 230V/50Hz charger and the TP-1509/J has a 100V/50-60Hz
charger.)
OPERATOR SERVICING
The following instructions are intended for limited servicing of the lamp. Do not perform any
servicing that is not covered in these instructions. Return the lamp to the factory for
maintenance not covered in this section
HOUSING AND FILTER MAINTENANCE
CAUTION: Always shut off the switch on the ballast and unplug the ballast from the power
outlet before performing any maintenance or servicing. Allow the lamp to cool before
handling.
Clean the lamp and ballast housings with water and a mild detergent and wipe dry. Periodically
clean the filter with a glass cleaner and a soft cloth.
FILTER REPLACEMENT
The lamp is shipped with a TP-1050 filter lens. The may be used with either the
TP-35100 spot bulb or the TP-35100F flood bulb. The TP-1050D filter lens may be ordered
with the TP-35100 spot bulb (only) to produce a more diffused spot beam that is not as
wide as the flood beam.
1. Peel the silicone-rubber filter holder from around the circumference of the lamp
housing.
2. Press the existing filter out of the filter holder.
3. Press the new filter gently but firmly into the filter holder.
4. Reattach the filter holder by pressing it around the circumference of the lamp housing with the
heel of your hand. Be sure the groove in the filter holder seats over the rim of the housing.
BULB REPLACEMENT
Use only a Tracerline UV bulb/reflector assembly. Using any other bulb may
damage the unit and will void the warranty. The lamp is shipped with a TP-35100 spot
bulb/reflector assembly. The lamp may be ordered with a TP-35100F flood bulb/reflector
assembly.
1. Remove the filter holder.
2. Remove the existing bulb/reflector by turning its rim counterclockwise.
3. Hold the bulb/reflector by its protective cover while inserting it into the socket with a clockwise
quarter-turn bayonet action. Firm pressure is needed to overcome the spring in the socket.
Pop off the black fastener and remove the protective cover.
4. Reattach the filter holder.
UV INTENSITY VERIFICATION
To ensure that the lamp is operating at a UV intensity sufficient to meet military and aerospace
specifications, the intensity should be checked periodically. The Spectroline DM-365HA digital
radiometer or the DSE-100H digital readout unit are specially designed to measure long wave
UV irradiance in the spectral range from 320-400nm.
AUSTAUSCH DER BIRNE
Verwenden Sie nur ein Tracerline UV Birnen-/Reflektor-Set. Andere Birnen können das
Gerät beschädigen und deren Verwendung führt zum Erlöschen der Garantie. Die Lampe
wird mit einem TP-35100 Spotlicht-Birnen/Reflektor-Set versandt. Die Lampe kann mit
einem TP-35100F Flutlicht-Birnen/Reflektor-Set bestellt werden.
1. Nehmen Sie den Filterhalter ab.
2. Nehmen Sie die bestehende Birne/Reflektor heraus, indem Sie deren Rand gegen den
Uhrzeigersinn drehen.
3. Halten Sie die Birne/Reflektor an ihrer Schutzabdeckung fest und setzen Sie sie mit einer
Viertelbajonettdrehung im Uhrzeigersinn in die Fassung hinein. Um die Feder in der Fassung
zu überwinden, ist ein fester Druck nötig. Lösen Sie das schwarze Befestigungselement und
nehmen Sie die Schutzabdeckung ab.
4. Bringen Sie den Filterhalter wieder an.
ÜBERPRÜFUNG DER UV-INTENSITÄT
Um sicher zu sein, dass die Lampe mit einer UV-Intensität betrieben wird, die ausreicht, und
Militär- und Raumfahrtspezifikationen entspricht, sollte die Intensität in regelmäßigen Abständen
geprüft werden. Der Spectroline DM-365HA digitale Radiometer oder die DSE-100H digitale
Ableseeinheit sind spezifisch dazu konzipiert, die langwellige UV-Strahlungsintensität im
Spektralbereich zwischen 320 und 400 nm zu messen.
BEACHTEN SIE: Um Langwellen-UV zu messen, muss die DSE-100H Ableseeinheit mit
dem austauschbaren Sensor DIX-365A verwendet werden. Sie kann auch mit Hilfe der
austauschbaren Sensoren DIX-555A oder DIX-555A/L sichtbares Licht im Spektralbereich von
380 bis 760 nm messen.
