Message

Duplicated WWN was detected with PID 0x<existing device PID> and 0x<new device

PID>.

Probable Cause

Indicates that an existing device has the same World Wide Name (WWN) as a new device that has come
online.

Recommended

Action

The switch will process the new process ID (PID) and leave the existing PID intact. Subsequent switch
operations will clean up the obsolete PID. However, administrators can check and remove devices with a
duplicated WWN.

NS-1009

Message

NS has detected a device with node WWN as zero, PID 0x<device PID>.

Message Type

Probable Cause

Indicates that a port has logged in with the node World Wide Name (WWN) as zero. Brocade Network
Advisor (BNA) will not show the port connectivity.

Recommended

Action

Check the device that logged in. The device could be misbehaving.

NS-1012

Message

Detected duplicate WWPN [<WWPN>] - devices removed with PID 0x<existing device

PID> and 0x<new device PID>.

Name Server database.

Administrators should verify the reported devices with a duplicated WWPN.
