PD power mode

In the PD power mode, the ICX 6450-C switch is powered by a PSE source through the PD ports (ports
PD1 and PD2). Also in this mode, the switch can provide passthrough PoE power to down-stream
devices through the PSE ports (ports 1-4).

The table below shows the ICX 6450-C switch power usage in the PD power mode. When powering the
device using the PD ports, keep in mind that the maximum allowed continuous power per cable
depends on the standard being used, as shown in

When the show chassis command displays the message "Power supply present status failed," it is an
indication that there is no AC power supply and that the device is powered through PD ports, drawing
PoE.
