calibrated units selected for the probe. For a high alarm or control, the trip point must be
greater than the reset trip point, and for a low alarm or control the trip point must be lower
than the reset trip point. An error message will appear if these conditions are not met.

The next input on this screen allows one to send an Email notification when the probe reading
trips a condition. There are two other inputs on this page relating specifically to alarms. One
is External ACK Control, which offers a choice of alarm acknowledgements. There are four
contact closure sensors on the rear of the 2300 which allow for and external switch to be used
to acknowledge an alarm (an event which is logged along with the original alarm), and any of
the free digital inputs can be used as well (see Figure 17). Sending one pulse to the selected
digital input will acknowledge the alarm. Multiple alarms may be acknowledged with one of
the digital or contact inputs. For example, a momentary push-button switch may be wired to
Contact Input 1 and be selected to acknowledge all or some of the defined alarms, when
setting up each alarm, as shown in Figure 18.
