14. Rebuilding a Corrupted Internal SD Card

We recommend that you perform a SD card backup after the configuration has been setup
and verified. The backup can be done to the same SD card that contains the version Update
information.

There are two things that must be done to recover from a corrupt internal SD card. First, you
need to perform a rebuild operation. If the SD card has had the web browser files corrupted or
the SD card cannot be read, the only option is to use the Rebuild SD Card option on the
advanced LCD menu. The second step is to restore the configuration from the backup.

The LCD rebuild is required because if the internal SD card is inaccessible, the user won't be
able to start the rebuild process from the advanced setup web page.

The Rebuild operation (whether done from the LCD or web page) requires that the Update SD
card be inserted before it proceeds.

The rebuild operation performs the following:

1. Reformats the internal SD card
2. Copies all web files (html, JavaScript and images) from the Update SD card
3. Creates the basic directory structure required by the 2300

The next action requires that the user choose Restore from SD Card to copy the
configuration from the removable SD Card back to the internal SD Card. Once that has finished
and the 2300 restarts, the system is fully operational.

In addition, if the system sees that the internal SD card is not accessible during startup, the
user is prompted to perform the rebuild operation.
