Flow of registering users and controlling access

The storage administrator must set user accounts and access permissions beforehand for the server
administrators so that the server administrators can log in to Plug-in for Virtualization Server Provisioning
to access storage resources.

The following figure shows the flow of registering users and controlling accesses.

Figure 6 Operational flow (user registration and access control)

When logging in to Plug-in for Virtualization Server Provisioning, a user is authenticated in P9000
Command View AE Suite. To do this, you must register a P9000 Command View AE Suite account
for a server administrator.

By registering an account in a user group and then allocating a resource group or a role, you can
control which storage resources the server administrator can access. Limit the P9000 Command View
AE Suite resources that the server administrators can access after considering the number of
virtualization servers, the capacity to be used, and the operations the server administrator will need
to perform.

TIP:

When an external authentication server is used, user account authentication for P9000 Command
View AE Suite can be combined with other applications.
