Preparing for LUN Security XP Extension operations

To use LUN Security XP Extension, install the following:

LUN Security XP Extension license key.

For information about minimum and recommended firmware versions, see the HP StorageWorks XP

Remote Web Console user guide for XP12000/XP10000/SVS200. To use the Expiration Lock feature,

firmware version 21.10.02 or later is required.

To assign an access attribute, you must use an account that has write permission, such the Administrator

account, and you must be in Modify mode. If you use an account that does not have write permission or

you are in View mode, you can view the volume’s access attribute, but you cannot assign an access

attribute.

Launch Command View XP or XP Remote Web Console.

Click the LUN Security Extension button

. The LUN Security XP Extension pane appears.

To implement changes for LUN Security XP Extension, you must be in Modify mode.

If you are using Command View XP or XP Remote Web Console, only one user at a time can be in

Modify mode. For information about changing between View and Modify modes, see the

HP StorageWorks Command View XP user guide for XP Disk Arrays or the HP StorageWorks XP Remote

Web Console user guide for the specific array.

If you are using RAID Manager XP or other device management tools at the same time, more than one

user can be in Modify mode. For more information about simultaneous access by multiple users, see the

HP StorageWorks Command View XP user guide for XP Disk Arrays or the HP StorageWorks XP Remote

Web Console user guide for the specific array.
