Description
Property
The World Wide Port Name (WWPN) of a DPM port, as detected by the VSM
application upon connection to the SAN fabric.
The icon next to the name reflects the status of the HBA and the number of access
paths through which VSM can access the HBA:
•
—The HBA is recognized through a single access path and the HBA’s status
is Present.
•
—The HBA is recognized through a single access path and the HBA’s status
is Absent.
•
—The HBA is recognized through a single access path and the HBA’s status
is Failed.
•
—The HBA is recognized through multiple access paths and the HBA’s status
is Present.
•
—The HBA is recognized through multiple access paths and the HBA’s status
is Absent.
•
—The HBA is recognized through multiple access paths and the HBA’s status
is Failed.
Name
The name of the selected DPM, as reported by the fabric agent upon registration.
Group Name
The vendor of the DPM, as reported by the fabric agent upon registration.
Vendor
The status of the back-end HBA. Possible values:
•
Present—The DPM is polling the VSM server through all the back-end HBAs
associated with the DPM, as expected.
•
Degraded—The DPM is not polling through all the back-end HBAs associated
with this DPM. However, the DPM is polling properly through at least one HBA.
•
Failed— The back-end HBAs associated with the DPM are recognized on the
fabric but the DPM is not polling through any of them. In other words, the DPM
and VSM server are not communicating.
•
Absent— All the HBAs associated with the DPM are no longer visible on the
fabric.
Status
The types of connections over which the VSM servers of the local SVSP domain
recognize the DPM back-end HBAs. Currently, all DPMs only support Fibre Channel
networks. Therefore, the only possible value is:
•
FC—The back-end HBA is recognized by the VSM servers of the local SVSP
domain only over Fibre Channel connections.
Connection Type
A free text display field. To modify the text displayed, right-click the HBA and select
Manage > Edit comment.
Comment
The time at which VSM created the HBA object.
Creation Time
The user who created the HBA. The value is always “system” since VSM creates
the object when the VSM server first detects the HBA.
Created By
The time at which the HBA was last modified.
Modification Time
The user who last modified the HBA. To modify the text that appears here, right-
click the HBA and select Manage > Edit Comment. You can use this field for any
purpose.
