Error Communicating with iLO at VM host

The following error appears if the Windows Proxy Server is enabled and the host is using iLO 3:

Error Communicating with iLO at "VM hostname" Text object has no

attribute 'ribcl'

.

Possible cause: Windows proxy server settings are not configured to allow LAN communication
from the HP OneView for vCenter to iLO 3 on the target vSphere 5.x/ESXi 5.x host system.

Action: Disable or bypass Windows Proxy Server for the connection between the HP OneView for
vCenter/vSphere Client and iLO 3 on the ProLiant server running as an vSphere 5.x/ESXi 5.x host
system. To disable the Windows Operating System default proxy setting on the HP OneView for
vCenter server:
1.

Start the windows registry editor program regedit.

2.

Navigate to
Computer\HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet

Settings

.

3.

Manually change the ProxyEnable value from 1 (enabled) to 0 (disabled).

4.

Click OK.

To bypass Windows Proxy Server using Microsoft Internet Explorer or to verify if the TCP IP address
is configured for a proxy server that does not exist or does not match the existing proxy server,
use the Windows Internet Explorer LAN settings using the Microsoft Internet Explorer Tools menu
(Tools

→Internet Options→Connections→Local Area Network (LAN) settings).

For more information about configuring a proxy server, see to the Microsoft KB article 819961 at

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/819961

Unable to configure HP 3PAR StoreServ in Storage Admin Portal

Sometimes, the process of configuring an HP 3PAR array may result in the following error.

Error occurred while retrieving managed arrays of type HP 3PAR StoreServ

with hostname: xx.xx.xx.xx and username: administrator. Please check

the connection parameters and try again.

Possible cause: One of the reasons for this error is that the CIM server on the array is not responsive.

Action: In a SSH session to the console, check the state of the CIM server using the showcim
command. Here is what you may see.

bwi40g_Stg1_3par_e200_002 cli% showcim
-Service- -State-- --SLP- - SLPPort- -HTTP- - HTTPPort- -HTTPS- -HTTPSPort- -PGVer- -CIMVer-
Enabled Inactive Enabled 427 Enabled 5988 Enabled 5989
2.5.1 2.3.1
bwi40g_Stg1_3par_e200_002 cli%

Use stopcim followed by the startcim command to restart the server. Check the state of the
service after about 5 minutes. Next restart the HP OneView for vCenter Storage Module service. If
you’re still not able to configure the 3PAR array, restart the SysManager on the 3PAR console by
using the setsysmgr quiet-restart command; followed by restarting the CIM service, and
finally followed by restarting the Storage Module service.
