On the General tab, select a reclamation strategy:

Maximum Space Reclaimed. The reclamation task recovers all snapped space eligible for
recovery. It takes longer and uses more system resources than Maximum Speed. This is the
default.

Maximum Speed of Task. The reclamation task reclaims only the most easily recoverable
snapped space. This strategy reduces the amount of runtime required by the reclamation task,
but leaves some space potentially unrecovered (that space is still eligible for later reclamation).
You cannot create a schedule for this type of reclamation task.

If you are using the Maximum Space Reclaimed strategy, you can schedule the task to run
periodically. On the Schedule tab, click Schedule this task and select the frequency and time to
run the task.

To stop a running reclamation task, click Stop on the Task Summary panel.

Deleting snap trees

Use this dialog to delete the selected snap tree.

Before deleting a snap tree, you will need to delete all snapshots in the snap tree and reclaim the

space previously used by the snapshots. Complete the following steps:
1.

Disable any schedules on the snap tree. Select the snap tree on the Snap Trees panel, click
Modify, and remove the Frequency settings on the Modify Snap Tree dialog box.

2.

Delete the existing snapshots of the snap tree. Select each snapshot on the List of Snapshots
panel and click Delete. Reclaim the space used by the snapshots. Select the appropriate file
system from the Filesystems panel, select TasksSnapshot Reclamation from the lower Navigator,
click Start on the Task Summary panel, and then complete the Start New Snapshot Space
Reclamation Task dialog.

3.

Delete the snap tree.
