Successful chip control in thread turning

Threading can present problems in machines where there is limited
supervision. Chips can get trapped in chucks, often resulting in tool
damage and lost machining time.

To avoid these problems and achieve the best possible chip control,
use modifi ed-fl ank infeed, together with a C-geometry (chip-control)
insert.

With this infeed type, the insert can cut using both fl anks (opposite
fl anking) meaning that the chip can be steered in the right direction.
This helps to ensure continuous, trouble-free machining, free from
unplanned stoppages.
