switch. The port is connected to an Ethernet hub, which in turn is
connected to a series of Ethernet workstations. This is an edge port
because it is connected to a device operating at half-duplex mode and
there are no participating STP or RSTP devices connected to it.

A port can be both a point-to-point and an edge port at the same time. It
operates in full-duplex and has no STP or RSTP devices connected to it.
Figure 43 on page 141 illustrates a port functioning as both a point-to-point
and edge port.
