To connect an optical drive
Procedures for connecting an optical drive may vary, depending on the specific drive you purchase. See the manual supplied
with your optical drive for more information on its installation and use.
You can connect an optical drive while the computer is on. For specific instructions on using your supplied Application,
Driver, and System Recovery CDs, see

Remove the PC Card slot protector from the PC Card slot. See
for more information.

Remove the PC Card from the bottom side of the optical drive.

Insert the PC Card into the PC Card slot with the SONY logo facing up. See
for details.
Inserting PC Card
A protective cover is attached to the lens of the optical drive at the factory. Before using the optical drive, remove the
protective cover.
