Using storage media such as “Memory Stick™” media
Formatting storage media
“Memory Stick” media produced commercially is already formatted for use.
CF compatible memory card however, must be formatted with your CLIÉ
handheld. If you need to format your storage media, use
CLIE Files or Card
Info . The following explains how to format storage media with CLIE Files .

Insert the storage media into your CLIÉ handheld.

Rotate the Jog Dial™ navigator to select the CLIE Files icon
on the Application Launcher screen and press the Jog Dial™
navigator.
CLIE Files starts.
Tip
You can also tap the CLIE Files icon to start the application.

Tap the arrow V at the top right of the CLIE Files screen to
select storage media that you want to format.
Tip
You can also tap the icon or the icon to select.

Tap the Menu icon.
The menu is displayed.

Tap Format from the Tool menu.
When multiple storage media are inserted into your CLIÉ handheld, a
dialog box is displayed for you to select the storage media you want to
format.

Enter a new name for the storage media and tap OK.
A confirmation message is displayed.

Tap OK.
To cancel formatting
Tap Cancel in step 6.
