Troubleshooting the Docking Station

How do I set the i.LINK

®

network switch?

1.

Turn off your computer.

If you move the i.LINK

®

network switch when the computer is on, the computer may malfunction.

2.

Disconnect the AC adapter and all cables from your docking station.

3.

Disconnect your computer from the docking station.

4.

Move the i.LINK

®

network switch on the bottom of the docking station to the unmarked side using a thin pen tip.

5.

Connect the docking station to the computer.

6.

Turn on your computer.

What do I do if the optical drive does not work when the docking station is fastened to my computer and is connected
to another computer via an i.LINK connection?

You may need to set the i.LINK

®

network switch before the computer will detect the i.LINK connection.

1.

Turn off the computer.

2.

Disconnect the AC adapter and all cables from the docking station.

3.

Disconnect the computer from the docking station.

4.

Move the i.LINK

®

network switch on the bottom of the docking station to the unmarked side Using a thin pen tip.

5.

Reconnect the docking station to the computer.

6.

Turn on the computer.

Why did an error message appear when I correctly disconnected the docking station?

An error message may appear if a program is open or a device is connected to the docking station. Close all programs that
are in use and disconnect any devices. Try to disconnect the docking station again. If an error message still appears,

How do I remove a disc from the optical drive?

The computer must be on to remove a disc from the optical drive. If the computer is in a power saving mode (Standby or
Hibernate), you must return to Normal mode before you can remove a disc.

1.

Press any key to return to Normal mode.

2.

Press the Eject button.

How can I open the optical drive tray if the Eject button does not work?

Your computer comes with a manual eject hole on the cover of the optical drive. Insert a thin, straight object (such as a
paper clip) into this hole to eject a disc. For more information, see
