At this point if you removed the clutch pack from the rear pulley, you can now re-install the clutch
pack into the clutch shell by inserting the .120” steel drive plate first. (See figure 21) Follow that with
a friction, then alternate the steels and the friction plates never having two steels together or two
frictions together. End with a steel plate.

Next, install the pressure plate with the side stamped with
the word ‘OUT’ facing away from the motorcycle. (See fig-
ure 19).

Now install the diaphragm spring and the spring retainer (The word ‘OUT’ stamped into the spring
retainer faces away from the bike). Next, coat the threads on the 4 studs with a thin layer of anti-
seize and then thread the 4 spring retainer shoulder nuts onto the studs until they bottom. (See fig-
ure 20). Bend the lock tabs over to secure the 4 shoulder nuts. (See figure 21)

Correct Spring Geometry

Incorrect Spring Geometry

Using a short steel rule, lay the
edge on top of the exposed portion
of the diaphragm spring. You should
see an air gap on both ends of the
steel rule of about .010-.020”.

Install the starter jack-
shaft support with the 2
5/15-18 bolts supplied.
Be sure to apply 2 drops
of blue threadlocker on
each bolt and then torque
to 28-32 ft. lbs. (See fig-
ure 22 & 22a)
