update. Please be aware that the manufacturer
cannot take any responsibility for lost data in the
event that data is lost.
• When the update procedure is complete, the

navigation system will be restarted. After the
system has started up again, do NOT to turn off
the power supply for the navigation system
until the map of your surroundings appears.

• Any existing calculated routes will be erased.

The data for “Address Book” (including “Return
Home” and “Go to” data), “Areas to Avoid”, and
learned data of the sensor will remain. Cus-
tomised settings other than above return to the
default.

• If you use the remote control type, all the data

will be erased and customised settings will
return to the default.

Backing up Address book entries (includ-
ing “Return Home” and “Go to” data)
There is the possible risk of the “Address
Book” data (including “Return Home” and “Go
to” data) and the “Destination History” data
being lost during the update process. It is
highly recommended to use a PC Card (PCM-
CIA TYPE II <5 V>) to back up the data.
Since the “Destination History” cannot be
stored on a PC Card directly, to store the
“Destination History” data, first register it as
an entry of “Address Book” and then copy it
onto the PC Card. (For detailed information
about storing the data to PC Card, refer to the
manual included in the hardware package
when you purchased the navigation system or
previous upgrade package.)
