Do not fry very large quantities at one time. Consult the food table for your type at the end of

this booklet. You can find the type number on the bottom of the appliance.

Carefully put the basket in the fryer. Do not yet lower it into the oil or fat (Fig. 11).

Close the lid.

HD61 only: Set the required frying time (see section ‘Timer’ in this chapter).

You can also use the fryer without setting the timer.

Press the release button on the handle of the basket (1) and carefully fold the handle against

the fryer () (Fig. 1).

The basket is lowered to its lowest position.

During frying, the temperature light comes on and goes out from time to time. This indicates that

the heating element is switched on and off to maintain the correct temperature.

timer (HD6147 only)

The timer indicates the end of the frying time, but does NOT switch off the fryer.

setting the timer

Press the timer button to set the frying time in minutes. (Fig. 1)

The set time becomes visible on the display.



Keep the button pressed to put the minutes forward quickly. Release the button once the

required frying time has been reached.

The maximum time that can be set is 99 minutes.

A few seconds after you have set the frying time, the timer starts to count down.

While the timer counts down, the remaining frying time flashes on the display. The last

minute is displayed in seconds.

Note: You can erase the timer setting by pressing the timer button for 2 seconds (at the moment the

timer flashes) until ‘00’ appears.



When the preset time has elapsed, the timer beeps. After 10 seconds, the timer beeps again.

Press the timer button to stop the audible signal.

Lift the handle to raise the basket to its highest position, i.e. the draining position (Fig. 1).



Press the lid release lever to open the lid. (Fig. 15)

Beware of hot steam and possible spattering of the oil.



Carefully remove the basket from the fryer.

To remove excess oil or fat, shake the basket over the fryer or put the basket in the draining

position by placing it in the bracket on the inside of the bowl.



Put the fried food in a bowl or colander lined with grease-absorbing paper, e.g. kitchen paper.

If you want to fry another batch, wait until the temperature light comes on and goes out

again.

If you want to stop frying, press the on/off switch to switch off the fryer.

The power-on light in the on/off switch goes out.



Put the basket in the fryer.

Close the lid.

Unplug the appliance after use.
