Customizing the Presenter Display

If you have a dual-display configuration (one display for the presenter and another
for the audience), or if you want to rehearse your presentation using a single display,
you can view information that’s helpful to you as the presenter. For example, you can
configure your display to show you a clock, a timer, a preview of the next slide, and
other prompts. (Self-playing presentations cannot be used with the presenter’s view.)

Select the options

that appear on the
presenter’s display.

Click to rearrange the
windows on the
presenter’s display.

Select to view presenter

information on an

alternate display (during

a slideshow with a

dual-display setup).

Select to make the menu
bar red when a build is in
progress and green when
the build is complete.

You can specify which prompts appear in presenter’s view, and how they are arranged.
Before you customize the presenter’s view, you need to enable presenter’s view and
specify which of your two displays will show it.

To enable the presenter display:

1

Choose Keynote > Preferences, and then click Presenter Display.

2

Select “Use alternate display to view presenter information.”

In the Preferences window, you can also select the items that you want to appear
in the presenter display. But you can also select different options and make further
adjustments when you customize the presenter display.

3

Click Slideshow at the top of the Preferences window.

4

Select one of the following options at the bottom of the Preferences window:

Present on primary display: Shows the slideshow on the same display as the
menu bar.
Present on secondary display: Shows the slideshow on the display without the
menu bar.

5

To specify which items you want to have available in the Presenter Display, select them.

For a description of each option, see below.
