Setting the Zero Point
The Tare function enables you to rezero measurement channels. This
function is used to mask out backpressure buildups present in the system.
For example, if a pressure of 3 bar is present at a pressure transmitter
despite the facility having been switched off, this value can be used as the
new zero point for display purposes. This function is also available for
performing differential measurements. Rezeroing can be done at any point
throughout the measurement range of a measurement channel.
Example:
The Mode key takes you to the
screen shown at the right. Now
use the right arrow key to select
SET for setting the zero point.
Actuating the right arrow key
again (CLR) enables you to delete
or clear the zero point. The left
arrow button enables you to scroll
back. Pressing Mode then causes
the zero point to be set or cleared.
