OPERATING THE HEADER

6.1.1

Adjusting Header Float

DANGER

Stop engine and remove key from ignition before leaving operator’s seat for any reason. A child or even
a pet could engage an idling machine.

Check the float by grasping the front corner of header and lifting. The force to lift should be 95–105 lbf (426–471 N),
and should be approximately the same at both ends.

If it is necessary to adjust the float, perform the following steps:

1. Raise the header fully, shut down the engine, and

remove the key.

2. Turn drawbolt (A):

a. Clockwise

to

INCREASE

float

(makes

header lighter).

b. Counterclockwise to DECREASE float (makes

header heavier).

3. Recheck the float.
