III. USING YOUR OVEN

A. Oven Components and Controls

SciGene ovens use a radiant heating system to warm the walls of the
stainless steel interior, providing uniform heating of air within the
rotator compartment. Operating temperature (ambient + 5 to 99°C) is
regulated to ±0.2°C from set point by means of a high performance
temperature controller (Watlow EZ-Zone) and a sensitive Resistive
Thermal Device (RTD) used as temperature sensor. The RTD is a stainless
steel probe located at the top of the rotator compartment. SciGene ovens
simplify calibration by incorporating a secondary RTD mounted with the
primary RTD.

Key Components:

Power Switch - turns on power to the heater.
