8. Click [Next].
9. Select “PI-API application” as the type of trust to be added.
10. Click [Next].
11. Specify the application name (enter either “datatransfer” or
“webs”).
12. Specify client connection information such as the network
path, IP address, and subnet mask for “datatransfer” or
“webs”.
13. Click [Next].
14. Select a PI user from the dropdown menu.
15. Click [Finish]. The trust will display in the list of trusts as
shown in the following image. Note that you must assign
activation licenses for the FactoryTalk Historian SE server
before you can do this.
16. Go to Configure Historian > Data Transfer in the FactoryTalk
Historian ME module web interface.
17. Enter the IP address of the SE server.
18. Click [Test Connection]. Enter the host name or IP address of
the FactoryTalk Historian SE server. You should receive an
informational message that states “The connection to the SE
can be established.” This indicates that the FactoryTalk
