Section 1 Cart Assembly and Setup

Refer to Figure 1-2:
Carefully raise the axle extension (#1) into place and align
holes. Attach the extension to the main frame using 1” x 3”
bolts (#2) with 1” lock washers (#3) and 1” nuts (#4). Do
this for both sides of the drill. Be careful not to damage the
acre meter if present. The inner main shaft bearing brack-
et (#5) will be installed on the lower front two mounting
bolts on the left side.

Do not tighten these two bolts until the main shaft assem-
bly is installed.

Main Drive Shaft and Chains

Refer to Figure 1-3:
Position the main drive shaft assembly (#1) with the “60”
series 13 tooth sprocket (#2) to the outside. Place the in-

NOTE: Make sure that the axle extensions are se-
curely bolted to the drill frame. Torque to values listed
in the Torque Values Chart in the “Appendix” sec-
tion on page 54. Tighten the top two bolts first.

ner bearing bracket over the two lower front axle extension
bolts (#4). Install the two 5/16” bolts with flat washers (#5)
against the slot in the bracket. Install the “60” series chain
(#3) from the hub to the 13 tooth sprocket. Align the chain
by moving the shaft in the bearings until aligned. Slide the
shaft out to tighten the chain. Do not over tighten. Tighten
the bolts holding the bearings in place. Tighten bearing
locking collars.

Install the chain from the inner sprocket to the clutch (#6).
Slide the inner sprocket (#7) in or out to align the chain.
Adjust the chain tension by loosening the bolts holding the
clutch shaft bearings and moving the clutch shaft up or
down. Do not over tighten the chain.

Tighten the bearing bolts. Check all set screws in the
sprockets and bearing locking collars. Tighten all fasten-
ers. Make sure that all chain connecting links have retain-
ers in place.
