STEP 5. Radar Setup Wizard
NOTE
: This section applies to users who intend to use a Radar and a Nobeltec
IR2-BB with Jeppesen Workboat Navigator. If you do not plan to use a Radar
and IR2-BB with Jeppesen Workboat Navigator, skip this step.
WARNING
: Most radar technical problems come from installing the IR2-BB
incorrectly. Jeppesen Marine strongly recommends that you use a qualified
marine electronic technician to install all radar hardware, and completely test
and verify all wiring and connections before use.
Using the Radar Setup Wizard
This section assumes that you have installed the IR2-BB and that it is transmitting
data from your radar. Once the IR2-BB is installed, run the Radar Setup Wizard.
This will point Jeppesen Workboat Navigator to the radar feed and establish your
radar settings.
TIP:
When you run the Radar Setup Wizard, your radar and the IR2-BB must
be installed, powered on and connected to your computer. The Radar Setup
Wizard will detect the NMEA output from the IR2-BB and walk you through
setup.
Close Jeppesen Workboat Navigator before running the Radar Setup Wizard.
Open Start | All Programs | Jeppesen Marine | Radar Setup Wizard.
After the Radar Setup Wizard window opens, click Next.
Complete all of the requirements listed in the Radar Setup Wizard - Port
Configuration window (Figure 2.20); and then click Next.
NOTE
: If any requirement listed in the Radar Setup Wizard - Port
Configuration bullet points is incomplete, click Cancel, complete that step,
and then restart the Radar Setup Wizard.
