STEP 8. Boat Configuration

Individual Boat configuration is adjusted by editing the BoatDef.ini and
Navobj.txt files. This prevents your boat settings from accidentally being edited or
deleted while you are underway.
Tow settings can be edited using the Boat Properties Menu.

To Configure BoatDef.ini Settings

Close all programs
Open the BoatDef.ini file using Notepad, Wordpad or another text editor. (C:\
Program Files\Jeppesen Marine\WorkboatNavigator\Config\Vessel\BoatDef.ini)
Under the [Tow Info] settings, input your Boat ID, boat length, width, air draft,
draft, and port and bow offset.

NOTE:

Most settings in the ini file are total inches, for example 32 ft, 0 in =

384". However, the air draft and draft settings are in total meters.

WARNING

: When you change the Boat ID (boat name), do not use special

characters such as slashes, back-slashes, underscores and hyphens.
Although the name will appear correctly in Workboat Navigator, Voyage Data
files will not be created.
