Removing the Control Panel

NOTICE:

Before disconnecting a device from the computer or removing a

component from the system board, verify that the standby power light on the
system board has turned off. To locate this light, see "

System Board

Components

."

Turn off the computer and devices, disconnect them from their

electrical outlets, wait at least 10 to 20 seconds, lay the computer on its

right side, and

open the computer cover

Remove the front panel

.

Disconnect the control-panel cable from the I/O panel connector.

Disconnect the I/O panel cable from the connector on the system

board. To locate the system board connector, see "

System Board

Components

."

Remove the mounting screw from the control panel.

6

Lift the control panel away from the chassis.
