5. Change the drive pinion.
① Lock the companion flange, remove the pinion lock nut.
② Remove the drive pinion from the carrier case.
Upon removal please make sure not to drop it.
Handle with care.
③ Remove the pinion bearing and install it on the drive
pinion supplied in this kit.
Please pay attention to the direction of the pinion
height adjustment washer.
④ Fit the collapsible spacer to the drive pinion gear, install
into the casing, then fit the the companion flange. During
this process you also verify the preload of the pinion
bearing and tighten the pinion nut bit by bit
【Pinion Bearing Preload】
2.55～3.04N・m（0.26～3.04
【Pinion Range Tightening Torque Setting】
147～323N・m（15.0～32.0kgm)
Please keep the pinion nut within the torque
range settings, do not over tighten it.
6. The final drive & adjustment washer is then installed into
the diff case housing. The bearing cap is then fitted and
tightened
【Torque Tension】 88～98N・m (9.0～9.9kgm)
Please verify the set mark point on the bearing cap.
Be careful
not to drop it.
