ing the name and path. A description of the Detail file contents will be described later.
Note: It is suggested that the detail file be created only when a single strategy is run;
otherwise, FastBreak will run slower and a very large file will be created.

Make Signal File

Checking this box will create a market timing signal file in the FastTrack signal file for-
mat. See the FastTrack manual for complete information on signal files. The signal file
can be read by FastBreak and FastTrack. Note: Do not create a signal file if more than
one strategy test case is to be run. All the test cases will append together into a single
signal file and FastTrack will not know what to do with this information.

When the box is checked, a file selection menu appears where a file name and path can
be selected. It is suggested that the path be set to the FastTrack SIG directory because
this is where FastTrack and FastBreak look for signal files. Once the file name and path
have been entered, a message box will appear asking the user to input a Title. This title
will be shown when the file is read into FastTrack and can be up to 40 characters long.

After a file name and title have been entered new boxes will appear on the Output Tab
screen showing the information.

Create FNU

Checking this box will create a FastTrack FNU file. See the FastTrack manual for com-
plete information on FNU files. The FNU file can be read by FastTrack just like any
fund. The results from your trading strategy can then be compared to other funds or in-
dexes in FastTrack. It is a great way to do additional analysis. Note: Do not create an
FNU file if more than one strategy test case is to be run. All the test cases will append
together into a single FNU file and FastTrack will not know what to do with this in-
formation.

When the box is checked, a file selection menu appears where a file name and path can
be selected. It is suggested that the path be set to the FastTrack directory because this is
where FastTrack looks for FNU files. Once the file name and path have been entered, a
message box will appear asking the user to input a Title. This title will be shown when
the FNU file is read into FastTrack and can be up to 40 characters long. After the title
has been entered, a final box will appear asking for a Symbol name and the symbol can
be up to 5 characters long and will appear on the top of the FastTrack screen.

After a file name, path, title and symbol have been selected new boxes will appear on the
Output Tab screen showing the information. See the example at the start of this section.
