SET UP OF THE INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER SECTION OF THE MD 209

HYBRID AUDIO RECEIVER

(All numbers correspond to the product diagram on Page 13)


CAUTION

As standard practice, you should always unplug the main power to the MD 209
Hybrid Audio Receiver whenever any source component, interconnect or
loudspeaker is being installed in your system.

Now that you have positioned the MD 209 Hybrid Audio Receiver correctly and
plugged it into the appropriate AC power supply, you are ready to hook it up to the
speakers.

1. Hook up your speakers to the receiver insuring that the positive (+) terminal on

the speaker is hooked up to the positive (+) output terminal on the receiver,
likewise that the negative (-) is correctly hooked up. Be sure that all the
connections are tightly affixed.


2. Turn the power switch on the front panel (1 on diagram) to the ON position. The

LED above the power switch will turn on, and center display will light up indicating
the selected source (i.e. Tuner, CD etc.).

1. Set input (2 on diagram) to Tuner. The input display will show “TU”, the meters

will light up.


2. Press the

button (4 on diagram) to S

3. Press the bandwidth button “

BW 1”

button (5 on diagram), and LED will

illuminate.


4. Press the

mute

button (3 on diagram), and LED will illuminate. For normal

operation of the tuner, the mute switch should be on.


5. Press the

Signal Meter button

(7 on diagram), and LED will illuminate.


6. Turn the

Tuning Knob

(8 on diagram) until sound is heard, fine tune the station

using the center tune meter (12 on diagram) and the signal strength meter (11
on diagram) as indicators. Check that the

Stereo

button’s LED is on when

properly tuned to a strong frequency (as indicated by the signal strength meter).
