INSTALLATION

Windows Operating Systems

Installing CanogaView EMS for Windows is a two-part process. The Core Services must be

installed first, followed by the Report Server.

PART 1: INSTALLING THE CORE SERVICES

Installation for the Core Services is comprised of a 13 step procedure that is controlled by the
installation program. Each step must be completed thoroughly and consecutively in order for proper
installation.

STEP 1

BEGIN INSTALLATION

Locate the folder csem-core-2.0 on the installation CD and execute the file core-install-
win32.exe
.
When the Information window appears, click Next.

If the installation procedure does not detect the proper version 5 (1.5.x) or greater of the Java
Runtime Environment (JRE), a window will appear indicating that a Java Runtime Environment
could not be found. Select one of the following options, then click OK.

manually specify the location of an existing Java Runtime Environment.

automatically install the Java Runtime Environment provided with this software (recom-
mended
).

download the latest version of the Sun Java Runtime Environment from the Internet.

If the Welcome to Java window appears, click Accept to install the JRE. When the Thank
You!
window appears, click Finish.

STEP 2

LICENSING AGREEMENTS

Review the licensing agreements. You must accept the licensing terms to continue, then click
Next.

STEP 3

EXISTING INSTALLATION CHECK

This is an internal procedure that checks to verify that an existing CanogaView EMS Core is not
already installed.

STEP 4

TARGET PATH

The Target Path window appears displaying the default location where CanogaView EMS Core will
be installed. Should you require a different location, use the Browse button.
When finished, click Next.

If the directory in which you will install the CanogaView EMS Core files does not already exist, a
popup appears indicating that the directory will be created. Note the location where you install
this package, as you will require this information should there be need to uninstall it at a later
time.
Click OK to continue.

STEP 5

JDK PATH (UNIX ONLY)

This step will be skipped during the Windows installation.
