Setting Up Hyper Terminal


The Microsoft Windows program “Hyper Terminal” can be found in the START menu – it is usually in
one of these locations:

Start – > Programs – > Accessories – > Communications

(Win2000 WinXP)

Start – > Programs – > Accessories

(Win95 Win98 WinME)

1. Start Hyper Terminal and then choose “Properties” from the FILE menu.

2. In the Properties window (shown below-left) choose Direct to Com 1 in the “Connect using:”

box (you may also use any other available COM port, such as Com 2).

3. Click on the “Configure” button. The COM1 Properties window (shown above-right) is

displayed. Set all five options –

Bits

per

second:

115200

Data

bits:

8

Parity:

None

Stop

bits:

1

Flow

control:

None

Then click on the Apply button, and then the OK button – this closes the COM1
Properties window. Finally, click on the OK button in the Properties window.
