Portable and mobile RF communication

devices must only be used relative

to the Compex Fit and its wiring at

a distance which is not less than the

spacing recommended and calculated

using the appropriate equation for the

transmitter’s frequency. Recommended

Where P is the maximum output power

of the transmitter in watts (W) set by

the manufacturer’s specifications and

where d is the recommended spacing

in metres (m). The field intensity of RF

fixed transmitters, as determined by an

electromagnetic survey a must be less

than the observance level to be found

in each frequency range b. Interference

may occur close to any appliance

identified by the following symbol::

NOTE 1: From 80 MHz to 800 MHz, the spacing for high frequency amplitude is applied.

NOTE 2: These guidelines may not be appropriate for some situations. Electromagnetic wave

propagation is modified by absorption and reflection due to buildings, objects and

persons.

a

The field intensity from fixed transmitters, such as radio telephone base stations (cellular/

wireless) and a mobile radio, amateur radios, AM and FM radio emissions and TV emissions

cannot be predicted with any accuracy. It may therefore be necessary to consider an analysis

of the electromagnetic environment of the site to calculate the electromagnetic environment

coming from RF fixed transmitters. If the field intensity measured in the environment where

the Compex Fit is located exceeds the appropriate RF observance level above, the Compex Fit

should be monitored to ensure it is operating properly. In the event of abnormal operation, new

measures may then be imposed, such as realignment or movement of the Compex Fit.

b

Above the frequency amplitude from 150 kHz to 80 MHz, the field intensity must be 3 V/m
