8 Click “Insert Alert Device”.
4.2.4 Set Up a Overhead Pager or Two-Way Radio
To set up an overhead pager or two-way radio:
1 Select “Overhead Paging or Radio” from the “Insert Alert Device”
dropdown menu.
2 Enter a description of the alert device in the “Description” field.
3 If desired, choose an alert device category from the “Alert Device
Category” dropdown menu.
• This is usually used for quick messages and reminders.
4 Enter the telephone number of the device in the “Telephone number of
paging/radio device” field.
Note: Enter the number as it would be dialed from a phone connected to the same line.
For example, if you need to dial a 9 to get an outside line enter the number as
9,1,123,456,7890, with each comma as a one second pause in the dialing
sequence.
5 To preface the message with an alert tone or tones, enter them in the
“Alert tones sent prior to message” field.
6 To conclude the message with an alert tone or tones, enter them in the
“Alert tones sent after the message” field.
7 Check the box next to “Restrict calls to this interface:”
8 If you want a message sent when the alarm has been confirmed, check
the box next to “Send notification when alarm is confirmed.”
• Usually this is left unchecked on overhead pagers, as the confirmation
message would be announced over the paging system.
9 As desired, edit the “How many times should the system repeat the alarm
message?” field.
10 As desired, edit the “How many minutes should the system wait between
messages?” field.
11 As desired, enter any notes in the “Notes” field.
12 Click “Insert Alert Device.”
