1

Click “Install Setup.”

2

Choose “IPS Load Fixed Device Signal Strengths” from the “EchoStream
and IPS Configuration” heading.

3

Either enter a serial identification number from a single device in the
“Choose specific serial id” field, or select a report from which you want to
pull the signal strengths from the “Choose one or more log files to
analyze” field.

4

Click “Analyze this log file.”

11.3.3 Selecting Categories to Ignore

You can choose to exclude some devices by category from the vector map.
For example, it might make sense to exclude smoke detectors because they
are usually ceiling mounted, and a device mounted on the ceiling of one level
can appear to be on the level above.

To ignore categories:

1

Click “Install Setup”

2

Choose “IPS Configuration” from the “EchoStream and IPS Configuration”
heading.

3

Select the device categories to ignore from the “Categories to ignore”
field.

4

Click “Update.”

11.4 Setting Up the Point of Interest Method

The point of interest method will have the greatest success with multiple
location-enabled repeaters staggered throughout the site. After the repeaters
are installed, a dedicated pendant transmitter is alarmed at multiple points of
interest throughout the site, and categories created to store each point of
interest.

Then, when a pendant transmitter is alarmed in an emergency situation,
Radius will match the signal strength pattern as closely as it can to that
resulting from the points of interest.

To create points of interest:

1

Click “Install Setup.”

2

Click “IPS Configuration.”
