Custom Specific Color Difference Methods

When selecting custom specific color difference methods (16) an additional report is
available in the Tab-bar at the bottom of the workbook named “D_Table”. Also the icon
Data Table is now linked with this new report.
The report “D_Table” allows the calculation of a weighted dE.

In the upper part of the report, the tolerance settings are defined.
The weighting factors (S-factors) (17) can either be automatically calculated or manually
input. If a manual input is required the respective checkbox must be activated. Additionally,
one has to decide whether the selected color is to be weighted by SL, Sa, Sb (achromatic)
or by SL, SC, SH (chromatic). Values for the S-factors not used must be deleted. For solid
colors only the 45° angle can be selected.

The weighted dE can either be calculated for production or batch approval. To differentiate
between the two applications, the appropriate g-factors must be selected (18). If the
checkbox is activated, production factors will be used. If the checkbox is not activated,
batch approval factors will be applied.
Additionally, tolerance settings can be entered for Sparkle and Graininess (19).

In the lower part of the report the numerical results of the selected standard and samples
are displayed together with the sparkle tolerance graphs.
