DIGITAL DRY BATH INCUBATOR

MODELS 113002, 113002-2, 113004, 113004-2

(PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY BEFORE OPERATING)

PRODUCT INFORMATION

Boekel Digital Dry Bath Incubators are designed to be
used with standard aluminum dry blocks (nominally 3” x
3¾” x 2” high) of varying configurations for heating test
tubes, microtubes and other small vessels. These
Incubators are available in two sizes; Model 113002 has
a two block capacity and Model 113004 has a four block
capacity. Both have an easily programmed PID
(proportional integrative derivative) controller for rapid
heat-up and accurate temperature control.

The Boekel Dry Baths have recently been redesigned
with a sleeker, more aesthetically pleasing appearance
and an upgraded controller. The 113002 is a direct
replacement for 111002 two block capacity unit. The
113004 directly replaces the 111004. The Hot Start Dry
Bath Model 111007 has been discontinued, but the
113002 can be purchased with the new 110096 block
(designed to hold a 96 well PCR plate) to provide a more
versatile version of the Model 111007.

SET-UP

1. Place the unit in a clear, draft free environment.

Ensure that the surface on which the unit is
placed will withstand the radiated heat produced
by typical dry bath incubators. Ensure that the
side ventilation holes are not blocked.

2. Plug the power cord into a grounded receptacle

of appropriate voltage.

3. Place any standard block into the dry bath

incubator.

4. When using the Dry Bath Incubator to heat

microscope slides or 96-well plates, some form of
well cover or lid (non-flammable) should be used.

OPERATION

1. Turn the “Power switch ON (-). Ambient “Target

Temperature" will be displayed on the digital
readout.

2. The unit will automatically begin heating to the

temperature last programmed in the unit. The unit
retains its’ last programmed temperature in the
event of accidental power loss or deliberate
power down.

SETTING TEMPERATURE

The temperature controller has three buttons. When the
button on the left is depressed, it will display the “Target
Temperature”. When the left button is depressed
simultaneously with the

middle button, “Target

Temperature” value is lowered. When the left button is
depressed simultaneously with the button on the right,
the “Target Temperature” is increased. When all buttons
are released, actual block temperature is displayed.

In the event of power loss, the Temperature Controller
retains the last "Target Temperature" value. The
flickering green dot in the upper left corner of the
Controller Display is the heat indicator light.

Allow time for temperature to re-stabilize after setting or
resetting the temperature. 20 minutes should be allowed
for block stabilization at high temperatures.

CLEANING

1. Turn unit off and disengage power cord before

performing any cleaning.

2. The well interior, top and sides of the unit can be

cleaned using a damp sponge. Allow to dry
thoroughly before restarting unit.
