Automatic Transmission Fluid

It is not necessary to check the transmission fluid level.
A transmission fluid leak is the only reason for fluid
loss. If a leak occurs, take your vehicle to a dealer and
have it repaired as soon as possible.

Change the fluid and filter at the intervals listed in the
Maintenance Schedule. See Scheduled Maintenance
on page 7‑3
. Be sure to use the transmission fluid
listed in Recommended Fluids and Lubricants on
page 7‑8
.

Notice: Use of the incorrect automatic transmission
fluid may damage the vehicle, and the damages may
not be covered by the vehicle's warranty. Always
use the automatic transmission fluid listed in
Recommended Fluids and Lubricants on page 7‑8
.

Manual Transmission Fluid

It is not necessary to check the manual transmission
fluid level. A transmission fluid leak is the only reason
for fluid loss. If a leak occurs, take the vehicle to a
dealer for service. Have it repaired as soon as possible.
You may also have the fluid level checked by your
dealer when the oil is changed. See Recommended
Fluids and Lubricants on page 7‑8
for the proper fluid
to use.

Hydraulic Clutch

The hydraulic clutch linkage in your vehicle is
self-adjusting. This system does not have its own
reservoir. It receives fluid from the brake master cylinder
reservoir.

See Brakes on page 6‑32 for more information.
