CARE AND CLEANING

CLEANING THE REFRIGERATOR

Caring for your Kenmore Elite™ Side-By-Side

Refrigerator prolongs the life of your appliance and helps

keep it odor- and germ-free.

A CAUTION

Do not use benzene, thinner, or bleach for cleaning.

They could cause a fire or damage the surface of the

appliance.

Cleaning the Interior

Clean the inside walls and accessories with a mild

detergent and then wipe dry with a soft cloth. You can

remove the drawers and shelves for a more thorough

cleaning. Make sure to dry the drawers and shelves

before putting them back into place.

Cleaning the Rubber Door Seals

Dirty door seals can prevent the doors from closing
properly and lower the refrigerator’s operating efficiency.
Clean the door seals with a mild detergent and a damp

cloth; then wipe dry with a clean, soft cloth.

Cleaning the Exterior

Wipe the digital panel and LCD display panel with a
clean, soft cloth. Spray water onto the cleaning cloth

instead of spraying directly on the surface of the
refrigerator.

The doors, handles, and cabinet surfaces should be
cleaned with a mild detergent and then wiped dry with

a soft cloth.

To keep your appliance looking its best, the exterior

should be polished once or twice a year.

Cleaning the Ice/Water Dispenser

A WARNING

Electric Shock Hazard

Do not spray water on the refrigerator while it is
plugged in. It could cause an electric shock resulting
in death, personal injury, or damage to the appliance.

1. Push down one end of the tray in the bottom of the

dispenser. Grasp the other end of the tray and

remove it.

2. Wipe the dispenser with a clean, damp cloth; then dry

with a soft cloth.

3. Wash the bottom tray in warm, soapy water; rinse and

dry. Replace the tray in the bottom of the dispenser.
