TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

REFRIGERATOR DOES NOT OPERATE

Check if...

Then...

The power supply cord is unplugged.

Firmly plug the cord into a live outlet with proper voltage.

A household fuse has blown or circuit

breaker tripped.

Replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker.

Refrigerator is in defrost cycle.

Wait about 30 minutes for defrost cycle to end.

REFRIGERATOR DOES NOT CHILL SUFFICIENTLY

Check if... Then...

The power supply cord is unplugged.

Firmly plug the cord into a live outlet with proper voltage.

The temperature control on the display panel

is not set to the correct temperature.

Reset the temperature control to a lower temperature.

Refrigerator is located in direct sunlight or
near a heat source.

Relocate away from heat source.

The back of the refrigerator is located too close
to the rear wall.

Make sure there is at least 3/8" of clearance between the
back of refrigerator and rear wall.

FROZEN FOOD IN THE REFRIGERATOR

Check if... Then...

The temperature control on the display panel

is not set to the correct temperature.

Reset the temperature control to a warmer temperature.

Room temperature is too low.

Make sure refrigerator is installed in a temperature control
room.

Food is NOT stored properly in the refrigerator.

Relocate food to warmer section in the refrigerator. Example:
Foods with high water content should not be stored in a Deli

Drawer or a Fruit and Vegetable Crisper.

UNUSUAL NOISE OR SOUNDS

Check if... Then...

The refrigerator is level and stable.

Level and secure the refrigerator.

The back of the refrigerator is located too close
to the rear wall.

Make sure there is at least 3/8" of clearance between the
back of the refrigerator and the rear wall.

Anything was dropped behind or under the

refrigerator.

Remove the dropped object.

A “ticking” sound is heard from inside the refrigerator.

It is normal and occurs when various accessories contact

or expand due to temperature changes inside the

refrigerator.

“Clunking” and “hissing” sounds are heard from inside

the freezer.

They are normal and occur when ice drops into the ice

bucket and water refills the icemaker.
